Notes: Depicts Edward Glendinning, sword in hand, in front of the extravagantly attired Sir Piercie Shafton, in a room at Glendearg, with Father Eustace seated to the right [Ch. 26]. Imprint of Hurst, Robinson, & Co., London (the secondary publishers on title-page). Also appears in 'A New Series of Illustrations of the Historical Romances of "The Author of Waverley"' (London: Hurst, Robinson, & Co., 1824) (see image), and in 'The Waverley Album' (London: Charles Heath, [1832]), facing p. 29. Vol. also includes title-page vignette of Glendearg as in vol. 3 of 1822 12mo issue, but with engraver given as Edward Finden.
