Notes: Depicts Roland Graeme as a boy, in the Loch of Avenel, having been rescued by Wolf and being pulled into a small boat occupied by two men, with the Castle in the background [Ch. 1]. Imprint of Hurst, Robinson, & Co., London (the secondary publishers on title-page). Also appears in 'A New Series of Illustrations of "The Author of Waverley"' (London: Hurst, Robinson, & Co., 1824) and in 'The Waverley Album' (London: Charles Heath, [1832]), facing p. 31 (see image). Vol. also includes title-page vignette of Loch Leven Castle as in vol. 5 of 1822 12mo issue, but with engraver given as Edward Finden.
