Notes: Depicts Edgar Ravenswood with arm round Lucy Ashton by the fountain, with dead raven and arrow at feet, as Ravenswood looks around for the marksman [Ch. 20]. Imprint of Hurst, Robinson, & Co., London (the secondary publishers on title-page). Also appears in 'The Waverley Album' (London: Charles Heath, [1832]), facing p. 21 (see image). Vol. also includes title-page vignette of Crichton Castle, as in vol. 15 of 1821 12mo issue, but with engraver given as Charles Heath. A reengraving of the present image appears in the Centenary edition of the Waverley Novels: see #CEN0015.
