Notes: Depicts Dalgetty kneeling on a cushion and peering through a curtain in the Marquis of Argyle's private gallery in the chapel at Inverary, with Ranald MacEagh looking on [Ch. 14]. Imprint of Hurst, Robinson, & Co., London (the secondary publishers on title-page). Also appears in 'The Waverley Album' (London: Charles Heath, [1832]), facing p. 23 (see image). Vol. also includes title-page vignette of Old Inverary (forming with frontispiece one of several exterior/interior combinations to be found in this set), as in vol. 16 of 1821 12mo issue, but with engraver given as Charles Heath. A reengraving of the present image appears in the Centenary edition of the Waverley Novels: see #CEN0011.
