Notes: Depicts a rowing boat and sailing vessel close to each other on a river, with figures visible in each. Also appears in 'Tales and Romances of the Author of Waverley' [8vo issue], 7 vols (Edinburgh: Robert Cadell, 1833), vol. 10. Resembles the depiction of the barge of the Duke of Rothesay and Henshaw's boat [Ch. 30; EEWN 12, 323] in the vignette to vol. 43 of the Magnum Opus edition; see #MAG0086, though engraver there differs. Illustration title as given in Todd & Bowden 282A.
