Notes: Engraving of the statue of Scott sculpted by John Greenshields between 1832 and 1835. Purchased from the artist by Robert Cadell, the statue was originally engraved for the second volume of Lockhart’s ‘Life of Scott’ (1837-38). See Russell, Francis, ‘Portraits of Sir Walter Scott’ (London: White Brothers, 1987), Item 74, p. 46.
